The Hilton group of hotels is about as unamerican as they come.
Why?
How 'bout the Hilton in Oaklawn, IL is allowing a Pro Terror group to meet in their facility. Yes...you read that right.
Here......read this - found on the Investigative Report on Terrorism and seen on Fox News this morning:
"Hizb ut-Tahrir, an international movement seeking to re-establish an international Islamic state - or Caliphate - and to indoctrinate Muslims into supporting jihad, wants to step up its recruitment efforts in the United States. On July 19, the group, whose alumni include 9/ 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and suicide bombers,
will hold a conference entitled "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of
Islam" in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel in Oak Lawn, Ill, a
Chicago suburb."
This is the first time Hilton has been on my hit list. Blackfive rallied us a few years ago when the Hilton in DC shut down a steak house run by Vets that paid special attention to our wounded warriors.
I stopped using them then. But....I'll admit it.....I had started to waver. I had started to think maybe they've learned their lesson and it was ok now to give them a bit of my business.
Nope. Obviously not. So...they are back on my blacklist. And I would strongly encourage you to do the same.
Yes...this is America. Everyone is to freedom of speech and business is business. All that taken into effect - I have the freedom to say Kiss my Ass Hilton and I'll take my business elsewhere.

No Hiltons for us.

I'm glad that hotels and motels in my price range don't do such nonsense. It's really strange how the wealthier types are so much less patriotic than us who live and work in the trenches.

One more reason to dislike them.
Not cool. So very not cool. How in the hell is this allowed to happen? Oh right, we're the land of the free. Damn. Sometimes I wish we weren't.

I had dropped them a while back, and even "forced" an association I participate in to no longer meet there, as I will not attend. I too was wavering a bit, but this has renewed my dislike of the chain.
Oh, and Pam? There is a whole Hilton "family", so there are budget hotels which I will no longer use. I drove an extra 75 miles on a road trip last year, just because the only room available where I was was in the Hilton "family". They are not getting any of my money.
Last, I would love to know if there really are any chains with the intestinal fortitude to say "no" to a buck. I am thinking Marriott might be one, as they seem to be targets for terror attacks. They have a whole range of brands...
