So, I posted a thought over at Face Book and then realized it would be a great Saturday Question. It's past time. I did so well for over 3 years and lately? Nothin'.
Well, today anyway, we got one.
I'm sitting here with the TV turned to Apollo 13. I love this movie. I watch every single time I see it on the TV guide. I'm not a space/NASA person, but I flat out love this story. I've seen it more than any other movie in my lifetime. And every time I watch it, I never fail to respond. Laughter, tears, fear, joy, and pride. Oh so much pride.
Every time.
What about you? What is the one movie you cannot NOT watch? And why? What draws you to it?

My now-passed on friend Bubba and I used to quote dialogue to one another, back and forth, from "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" I am in possession of lots of his belongings -- books, clothing, a guitar, a leather hassock -- but that movie, more than anything, makes me feel like there is part of him, and our friendship, that is still alive.

There are many, actually.
The one that's going into the player tonight is In Harm's Way. I get totally drawn into it.
True Lies is like that... the 5th Element... the Philadelphia Story...

Monty Python's Holy Grail. If I need to explain what draws me to it, then you'll never understand...

There's another one..."A Bronx Tale"...every single time it's on, I gotta park my tail on the couch. I get something new out of it every time.

Let's see, there is "The Cheyenne Social Club" starring those lifelong friends, Jimmy Stewart and Hank Fonda. Made toward the end of their careers it is just such a hoot.
John Wayne's last movie, "The Shootist", there are many others when they come along I hust have to watch Those two wonderful Jimmy Garner westerns, "Support Your Local Gunfighter" and "Support Your Local Sheriff".
Too many to list, really. There haven't been many good movies since the mid-seventies or so. Damned shame. Somehow Hollywood and New Yorl got the idea that I wanted to pay money to go sit in a room full of strangers and be lectured. Bein' a married man I can be lectured without leaving home.

Even though I own the DVD &/or BluRay, I will watch on tv with commercials:
The Italian Job
National Treasure (both)
Every single time they're on.
Hubby will watch the Alien movies, even though we have them on DVD.
And, yes, someone said True Lies. We will watch that one, too, but we don't own it.

Breakfast Club or Red Dawn. Two best movies ever.

A little late, but Now, Voyager with Bette Davis & Claude Raines.
I also have two mini-series that I watch every time they are on: Lonesome Dove and Band of Brothers.

OOO! The Breakfast Club. That was a good one CPO came up with.
When Harry Met Sally. If it's on... I have to watch it.
